Get Involved

Parent involvement in Orinda schools is very high. Parents and guardians participate in their school Parent Clubs and volunteer in classrooms, libraries, at field trips, school events, food service programs, and more. Our school events, such as the Back to School Night, Open House, and Parent-Teacher Conferences are very well-attended.

We encourage all of our parents and guardians to volunteer, participate, advocate, learn, donate....There are multiple ways to get involved in the Orinda schools!
We are grateful for the incredible partnership with Orinda Network for Education (ONE) and all Parent Clubs.

Please get involved with ONE and your school's Parent Club.

Supporting Academic Excellence in Orinda Schools

Orinda community has passed three separate Parcel Tax measures to support local schools and offset lack of state funding.
  • Measure A was approved in 2003 in the amount of $385 per parcel.
  • Measure B was approved in 2009 in the amount of $124 per parcel.
  • Measure 7 was approved in 2023 in the amount of $295 per parcel. Measure Z sunsets in 2030.

The three Parcel Tax measures support class size reduction, teacher recruitment and retention, and academic programming.
Bond Measures E, and I were approved in 2018, totaling $105 million in local bonds to provide funding to support facility improvement.
Measures E and I are used to pay for new construction as well as general modernization. Currently, all OUSD schools are undergoing major construction projects, some of which include the following projects:
  • Construction of the new Sleepy Hollow Multi-Purpose Room
  • Construction of the new OIS Student Services Building
  • Installation of the HVAC system in all schools.
  • Electrical upgrades in all schools.
  • Modernization of old and outdated classrooms: windows, flooring, insulation, ADA compliance,
  • Improvement of school safety and security.
