TK/Kindergarten Enrollment
Inter District Transfers Out Of The District
- December 11, 2023: Online enrollment opens. The 24-25 enrollment application will not be available prior to this date, so please wait until December 11 to start your enrollment application. Parents of current TK students do not need to complete an online enrollment application.
- January 12, 2024: Completed enrollment applications must be submitted by January 12, 2024 in order to be included in a lottery should a lottery be necessary at your resident school.
- Enrollment applications submitted after January 12, 2024 are welcomed. They are received on a first-come, first-served basis for space.
Age Requirements
OUSD strictly follows California Education Code on age eligibility for entry to TK and Kindergarten programs. Please carefully read the age eligibility requirements below.
You must enroll your student in the age-appropriate grade level per the guidelines listed below.
2024-25 School Year
- Kindergarten: Children who turn five years of age on or before September 1, 2024 are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten only.
- Transitional Kindergarten: If your child turns five years of age on or between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025, you may only enroll in the TK program.
2023-2024 School Year
- Kindergarten: Children who turn five years of age on or before September 1, 2023 are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten only.
- Transitional Kindergarten: If your child turns five years of age on or between September 2, 2023 and April 2, 2024, you may only enroll in the TK program.
