Superintendent Search

Orinda Union School District is seeking a dynamic, confident, skilled, articulate leader who can maintain a collaborative culture that will ensure an exemplary education for all students.

Orinda Union School District (Orinda USD) is a TK-8 school district located in the Bay Area, serving approximately 2500 students in four elementary schools and one middle school. Orinda USD is proud to be considered one of the highest performing school districts in the State of California. The larger Orinda community collaborated in 2016 to create a set of strategic directions to guide the District’s educational experience and environment. The four pillars of Orinda USD’s Strategic Directions are: Inspire Innovators and Problem Solvers, Create Resourceful Collaborators and Critical Thinkers, Cultivate Ethical and Respectful Citizens and Nurture Emotional, Social and Physical Well-Being. These Strategic Directions helped build and continue to shape many of the innovative practices implemented throughout the District.

Orinda USD is dedicated to meeting the educational and social-emotional needs of each and every student, and follows the guiding principle of “Everyone Belongs Here.” Together with the larger community of Orinda, the District values its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, understanding anti-bias education and social justice. Orinda USD is equally focused on ensuring the mental health and well-being of every student. More recently, Orinda USD has prioritized educational technology needs within the District, as well as initiated facility renovation and improvement efforts related to Bond approvals by the community of Orinda. The teachers and staff in Orinda USD are instrumental in creating an exceptional educational experience for students, through continuous, positive collaboration and partnership. Orinda USD is extremely fortunate to have a high level of parental involvement in the schools and strong community partnerships, as evidenced by the support provided by the individual school Parent Clubs, the educational foundation of ONE Orinda and the City of Orinda.
