Safety is everyones jobSafety Committee meetings are held by the Facilities Department every other month with the Director of Facilities, District Support Administrator, and emergency preparedness parent volunteers from each school site.

Safety Training for Maintenance and Operations (M&O) staff are conducted annually by the Contra Costa County Schools Insurance Group (CCCSIG). Topics include Slips, Trips & Falls, Back Safety, Cal OSHA and Safe Work Practices.

Hazardous Materials Inventory is performed annually by the District's insurance carrier, Keenan & Associates.

Lock Out/ Tag Out and Asbestos Awareness trainings are held for our M&O staff.

The District participates annually in the “Great CA Shakeout” statewide earthquake awareness drill.

Earthquake, Fire Drill, and Intruder Alerts are conducted at all sites throughout the year.

Emergency Supplies are stationed at every school site in 40-foot containers.

Director of Facilities attends the Contra Costa County Safety Committee Meetings.

Summer Weed Abatement is performed annually at all sites to meet local fire department requirements.

Fire Extinguisher Service and Maintenance is completed annually throughout the District.

Elevator Inspections are conducted annually throughout the District.

Kitchen Inspections are conducted annually by Contra Costa County Health Services at all school sites.

Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at four school sites and hopefully at all five school sites in the near future.
