Love summer again AND support Orinda Schools’ Parent Organizations

Camp Galileo is back in the neighborhood for the best summer yet and supporting Orinda schools in April!  At Galileo, we mix day camp fun with hands-on projects in fields from science and engineering to the visual and culinary arts.  Throughout the month of April, Galileo will donate $25 to local Orinda schools’ parent organizations for every family that enrolls at Camp Galileo or Galileo Summer Quest. Plus, you’ll get $50 off camp with code 2019SCHOOLREWARDS. Be sure to enter your school name as the school during checkout (in the camper info section).  Camp Galileo (pre-K – 5th grades) is at Del Rey, Orinda and Galileo Summer Quest (entering 5th – 8th grades) is at Contra Costa Jewish Day School, Lafayette. Programs run June 17 - August 2nd. Optional extended care and lunch. Learn more at or 800-854-3684.

ShortDocs Information

Attention Filmmaker:

Big news!  Be sure to pack that camera with you for Spring Break, because the 4th Annual Lamorinda ShortDocs Film Fest is back, and better than ever!  We are pleased to announce that this year's festival will be hosted by the California Independent Film Festival (CAIFF) and will take place on August 25th at the historic Orinda Theatre.  Completed films will be due by June 16th.

Lamorinda ShortDocs is a short documentary film competition open to filmmakers of all ages who live or attend school in the Lamorinda Community. Films must be 6 minutes or less and will be judged in 4 categories by age: Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and Adult. Finalists in each category will be selected and those films will be screened publicly during the Lamorinda ShortDocs live screening at CAIFF. One winner in each age group will be selected and announced at the screening, where an Audience Favorite Student Film will also be awarded. Finalists are expected to attend the August 25th event.

Register HERE today to be on the Filmmaker mailing list for updates as the planning stages unfold. Filmmakers who register by April 1st will receive a $5 discount code for your submission.  Questions?  Contact us HERE.
