Facilities Task Force

Overview

Since the Spring 2013, the school board has been reviewing the recommendations of the district updated Master Facility Plan. This plan contains recommendations for the use of funds from the recent sale of the Pine Grove property.

 

In August 2013, the school board authorized the District to form a Facilities Task Force. The charge of the task force was to gather community input regarding the expenditure of the Pine Grove funds, prioritize district facilities needs, and make recommendations to the school board regarding those needs. The Task Force presented its recommendations to the school board on December 9, 2013.

The Task Force was composed of five parents; Kirsten Odmark (Del Rey), Bruce Saldinger (Glorietta), Paul Dolan (Sleepy Hollow), Primo Orpilla (Wagner Ranch) and Wendy Bond (Orinda Intermediate School); and two board members; Tyson Krumholz and Matt Moran. Loreen Farrell, Director of Business Services, and Stuart House, Director of Facilities, served as staff to the task force.

 

The Task Force met regularly from September through November 2013. Meetings were scheduled in the evenings at the District Office except for one meeting per school site to gather public input. To collect community input, separate meetings were scheduled for each school.
