Demographic Study

The Residential Research Summary report, prepared by DecisionInsite, is based on information obtained from the City of Orinda Planning Department, as well as conversations with developers and sales offices in the area. The research was compiled on August 21, 2015, when it had been anticipated that the district could potentially experience the construction of 251 new dwelling units over the next 10 years.

Residential Research Summary 2016

At the Board of Trustees meeting held on December 10, 2012, the Orinda Union School District Board approved a contract with DecisionInsite to conduct a demographic study for the next 5 years 2015-16 to 2017-18.  With the Pine Grove property transaction completed, and with the sale of properties within the Wilder Housing Project, the District felt it was a good time to begin updating the enrollment projections. The results of the updated study will be used in conjunction with our Master Facilities Plan to ensure our District can safely and comfortably serve the needs of all our students.

DecisionInsite’s study has generated both a moderate projection, suitable for facilities planning propose, and a conservative projection, suitable for budget planning purposes. Both studies project a significant increase in the Kindergarten level in the ten-year future.

The Final Report showing the conservative projection can be viewed through the link below.
