Bulldog Kennel Overview

The Bulldog Kennel is the OIS food service operation. It is open five days a week for brunch and lunch. The Kennel provides our students with healthy, nutritious, and tasteful food choices at reasonable prices. The Kennel is staffed by parent volunteers and is overseen by our Kennel Director, Linda Judkins. All profits from Kennel operations go to the OIS Parents' Club.

Pre-Order Lunch Program
The Kennel offers a pre-order lunch program for the first half (Session I) and the second half (Session II) of the school year. Pre-orders are a convenient way to ensure that a student receives a complete lunch on a specific day of the week. Pre-orders include an entree, drink and a serving of fruit. The entrees are obtained from local restaurants chosen by the food services committee. See Pre-Order Lunch Program for detailed lunch options and and ordering information.

Daily Menu

With healthy offerings that have been kid and parent tested, the Kennel, and the self-service Bow Wow Chow, feature a diverse and changing menu. For brunch the Kennel and the Bow Wow Chow offer a wide selection of drinks, baked goods, fresh fruit, snacks and cereals. During lunch, there are also a variety of salads, hot dogs, sandwiches and frozen treats. Daily Menu items may be purchased using your pre-paid MealTime debit account. Cash is only accepted at one window in the Bulldog Kennel. See the Kennel Daily Menu page to learn more about this program.

MealTime POS System
With the MealTime Point of Sale (POS) System, students are able to purchase Daily Menu items with a pre-paid debit account by entering their student ID number on a numeric pad. To learn more about it and to set up your student’s account, go to MealTime POS System.

Volunteering in the Kennel

The Kennel relies on parent volunteers to serve the hundreds of students at OIS during brunch and lunch. It's fun and energetic volunteer work that enables parents to interact directly with the students and other parents. Most shifts are once a month. Please email Kathy Nyman if you would like to join a team or volunteer as a substitute.

Select 2011-2012 Bulldog Kennel Volunteer Roster to view shifts, teams and assigned dates.

Select Health & Safety Rules to review requirements for before and during your shift.

Kennel Board Members

A committee made up of an employee director and parent volunteers oversees the Kennel operations.  See Kennel Board Members  to view their titles and contact information for questions or suggestions.
